Stainless and galvanised steel are just protected in differentways; any difference in strength depends on the thickness, quality, etc. of the steel itself.
To the eye at least - CCUs spokes are larger in both dimensions vs say CX-Rays There will be a world of difference between a single piece type carbon rim/hub/spoke construction where these parts are bonded together in carbon, vs something where for example carbon spokes are just attached as per a steel spoke to a conventional rim and hub.
Will stainless steel react with galvanized steel?
It depends on the environments. If the two materials will be in contact with water or high humidity then you can have some corrosion on the galvanized steel. Stainless steel and galvanized steel can corrode. However, galvanized steel will corrode at a higher rate. Stainless steel is more corrosion resistant than galvanized steel, but in some circumstances it will also corrode.
Compare stainless steel on aluminum vs. galvanized steel on aluminum?
galvanised steel is a lot more safer.... if u go by the book.. it is upto 10 times stronger than stainless steel in aluminum
What is the difference between stainless steel and galvanized steel?
Stainless Steel is an alloy of iron with at least 11-12% chromium. Galvanized steel is a steel with a layer of zinc deposited on the surface.
Which is better for a 250 foot zip line stainless steel or galvanized cable?
Stainless steel is much better than galvanized for use as a zip-line.
What steel from cars and trucks make good knives?
What metal is stronger stainless steel or metal?
Stainless steel or WHICH metal? BTW, there are numerous grades of stainless steel. Some are stronger than others.
Is it okay to connect stainless steel to galvanized steel?
It depends on the environments. If the two materials will be in contact with water or high humidity then you can have some corrosion on the galvanized steel.
What is more reactive steel galvanized steel or stainless steel?
yes, stainless steel is more afective because of the molucules formed from the heat and the carbone hydrance in the iron
What is stronger diamonds or stainless steel?
Diamonds are stronger than stainless steel, because diamonds are the hardest mineral on earth.
Can stainless steel screws be safely used with galvanized connectors on pressure treated wood?
Yes. stainless steel screws are safe with any metal.
Is zinc fence stronger than Galvanized fence?
Laser cut projects download. Zinc is the coating on the steel that makes it galvanized.
Why stainless steel is better then iron?
Stainless steel is stronger and retards rust unlike iron
What metal is a sink made from?
Normally stainless steel. But cast iron coated with enamal and galvanized steel were also used.
What is the main advantage of using stainless steel instead of mild steel?
Many stainless steels are stronger than mild steel. Stainless steel is also corrosion resistant to many different environments where mild steel is not.
What is the main advantage of stainless steel over mild steel?
Many stainless steels are stronger. It's also more corrosion resistant. Wavelab 8 keygen.

Aluminized steel -vs- galvanized steel
We have been fabricating roof curbs from 14 Ga. aluminized for years, the material is getting harder to find off the shelf and latley my IMS rep told me they werent going to carry it anymore for 'health reasons' I personally dont value his opinion much and with the alternative of welding galv (we know how nasty that is) I am probably going to be looking for another source.
I asked one of the welders about switching to galv, he simply replied 'I'll quit'

Can not comment about the aluminum coated, but galvanised is nasty nasty stuff to weld in any qty. Your going to have to have some major fume extraction to do it on a production basis.

Most everything I've ever read says the vapors coming from welding of aluminized steel are the most benign of those from any coated steel. His reasoning sounds like something straight out of the bullshit excuse of the month club to me. My own wild guess would be that they're not moving enough aluminized thru that branch, or possibly thru the company as a whole, to make it profitable to carry it anymore, but they needed to dream up some reason such that it doesn't sound like they don't value the business of customers who do use it.
Back when we were in the mechanical contracting business, I noticed curb manufacturers moving more toward spot welded construction and the use of urethane seam sealers and away from all welded construction. There's probably a major savings of labor in that method of construction, and it frees you to use galvanized which is likely cheaper than aluminized material in heavier gauge stuff like the 14 you're using. Like the welder on your payroll, I'd be headed toward the door if anyone told me my future involved days of arc welding galvanizedLast edited by metlmunchr; 06-08-2013 at 05:32 PM.
